Recoome is a minor but notable antagonist in the Namek Saga of Dragon Ball Z. Like many of the other villains, he’s well designed and has a good story, but you just want to see this dude get defeated by the Z Warriors.

He’s part of the Ginyu Force, Frieza’s elite killing team. Despite their incredibly high power levels and reputation, they act goofy and dramatic, and in many ways, they have more in common with the Power Rangers.

Recoome serves as the main threat to Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan before Goku arrived. It does seem a bit lazy on Akira Toriyama’s part because this guy has a lot of parallels with Nappa from the Saiyan Saga.

While the trio do their best against him — and honestly do a fair bit of damage — Recoome comes scarily close to killing all of them, especially Gohan.

One of my favorite moments of the entire anime was Goku taking this guy out with a single attack. I was a little shocked but not exactly surprised when Vegeta finished him off with a blast, after Goku made it clear that he hadn’t intended to kill any members of the Ginyu Force.
