Android 19 is one of the minor antagonists from the Android Saga in Dragon Ball Z. Ironically, he was originally meant to be one of the two main androids that Trunks warned the Z Fighters about. However, Akira Toriyama’s assistant told him that Android 19 looked stupid — and honestly, I agree. This guy looks like Kim Jong-un, the dictator of North Korea.

Unlike most of the androids in Dragon Ball Z, this guy is technically a full robot. For those who don’t know, an android is supposed to be a robot designed to resemble a human, and for the most part, Android 19 fits the description. His counterpart, Android 20 — who is really Dr. Gero — is a cyborg, meaning a human with robotic parts replacing most of their body.

I will say, one of the coolest things about Android 19 was the energy-absorbing devices in his hands that allowed him to absorb Ki energy. There was a lot more potential in that concept, but once the heroes figured out how it worked, it became kind of useless — especially since most of the Z Fighters can hit hard enough with just punches and kicks.

Strangely enough, Android 19 is technically one of the few characters who actually defeated Goku — though to be fair, Goku was suffering from the heart virus triggered by his Super Saiyan transformation at the time.

Watching Vegeta as a Super Saiyan destroy Android 19 was pretty awesome, though — especially with all the trash talk Vegeta threw his way.

Vegeta left so little of him behind, you could probably turn what was left of his head into a toaster. LOL
